About Me
My name is Lucy Heller. I am a sponsored skateboarder from Highland park Illinois and currently study at Colorado State University. I have been skateboarding for 7 years and babysitting for around 5. I love kids, and I love skateboarding, so why not combine the two? I started coaching skateboarding lessons about 3 years ago and instantly fell in love. Over the past two years, I have had consistent weekly lessons in the summer and it makes me so happy that I get to gain such a strong connection with the kids and watch them grow as a skateboarder.
What is Lucy's Skate Club?
Lucy's Skate Club is a camp for early skateboarders eager to learn. We won't skateboard all day long, we will also participate in team-building games, relays, lunchtime, and a field trip. Although a big goal of this camp is for the kids to learn how to skate, there is much more than the physical aspect of skateboarding I would like to teach them. I will help the kids understand discipline, motivation, and inclusiveness to all people. Skateboarding is such a big community, and I want the children to understand that no matter who you are, you can still skate just like everybody else.
